Question
At what age does a female golden retriever stop being in heat. My son never got his sprayed. She is approx. 5-6 years old. I worry about her having the surgery at her age.
Will the heat problem stop when she reaches a certain age?

Hello Bonnie- she can continue the " heat" thru her lifetime.
It would be good to have her spay done now....The older the more dangers of throwing a blood clot after or during surger.
Just have the vet do some liver function testing prior to surger.
