Question
My vet gave me a multivitamin for my 6 month old bull mastiff. Everything I read says Nutro large breed puppy food is all she needs. Should she be on adult food at this age? She is getting patches of hair missing on legs and belly should she maybe be feed something other then a chicken based food?

Answer
Feeding a bullmastiff; bullmastiff info; what to feed a bullmastiff pup? ;

Maggie , I would love to help you and your bull mastiff.  The Nutro is an ok - average food but there is much better for your money.
Here are the Brands that I sure do like better than Nutro.
Do a mix of your Nutro and the new food for 2-3 weeks - slow change over...
1. Innova PUPPY
2. Wellness PUPPY
3. Merrick
4. Evangers
5. Chicken soup for the pup's soul
It would be best to stay on Large Breed Pup food until 12 month or even 14 months of age.
When you see your vet, talk about your pup's target weight.

As for the multivitamin, I have great luck with NuVET Plus supplements for pups.
NuVET also helps to re-grow fur because it reduces inflammation related to allergies.
Bull Mastif dogs do tend to have allergies ( food or Environmental )-
here is the NuVET info: Holistic and not sold in stores-
I would refer you to 1 1/2 teaspoons or Wafers per day -
It will help to heal the skin and it protects the HIPS and JOINTS, too.

Make sure you tell the NuVET girls that you are working with PET Nurse Marie.
