Treatment for possible muscle pull

Question
Are you aware of any treatment that would help the healing process for a muscle strain or groin pull in a dog.  My female golden has been limping noticeably on her left hind leg.  After examining her and moving her leg, our vet indicated it could be lymes disease or a muscle problem.  We are trying her on doxeycycline for a week to see if there is any improvement.  I tend to think she may have pulled or torn a muscle when we had some significant snow a few weeks ago.  She is already on Cosequin (has been for 2 years), and I have been giving her buffered aspirin twice a day the past week, but nothing seems to be helping.  Do you have any suggestions?

Answer
Hi Laura!

Without seeing you dog, I cannot tell you exactly what is wrong with your dog. This could be Lyme Disease, a Muscle problem or even arthritis. I would suggest that you go back to your vet and tell him what yor dog has been doing since your dog has last been to his office. Also ask him if this might be arthritis. He will give you the right medicine too.

I hope this has been helpful! Sending wagging tails your way!
