3 y/o panting excessively after walk outside

Hi,

My 3 y/o Female Golden has been panting quite hard when she returns from a 20 minute walk (casual pace) outside.  This had been going on for the last year, should I be worried?

Have you discussed this with your vet?  The first thing I think of heart worms.  Have you been using a preventative or had a test?  Or she could just be overweight.  Evaluate her as illustrated at http://www.longliveyourdog.com/twoplus/RateYourDog.aspx  If so, cut back until she reaches her ideal body condition.  Otherwise, better see the vet.
