Feeding my 3-month old golden

Question
Hi,
My 3 and a half month old male golden does not like the dry food. First we start with Nutra Nuggets, he ate it for three weeks. And then we went to a pet shop and they suggest us ANF. We gave that one but our vet said it is not a very high quality food so we finally bought him Eukanuba. He didn't eat any Eukanuba pet food at all. Now  we decided to buy him Hill's Science Diet because we ask to other golden retriever owners and they are very much satisfied with Hill's lamb and rice.
We are so worried about he is not eating anything. His siblings and other puppies at his age eat the world, but our little puppy does not like dry dog food.
What should we do?
Thanks.

Answer
How much have you been feeding him?  Chances are, if a Golden isn't eating, it is overfed.  Go to http://www.puppychow.com/products/popup_body_condition.aspx  If he is overweight, chances are he will eat better once he slims down a little.

Put down the dish with what the dog should eat, and give it 15 minutes to eat. Then take it up. Do not give it anything to eat until its next scheduled meal. In a few days, it should be eating what it needs. Continue to check its ribs and adjust the food as needed. This is not easy. I had a Shepherd go 3 days on a few nibbles. I was a wreck, but she was fine. It is almost unknown for a healthy dog not to eat what it needs. Unfortunately, in too many cases, it is less than the package says, and less than the owner thinks the dog should have. Many dogs are quite good at holding out for tastier chow. Like kids, sometimes it calls for tough love.

Also, go ahead and switch to an adult chow soon.  That will slow his growth giving more time for sturdy joints to develop.
