QuestionI have 2 goldens one of them has been developing a very scaly nose, in fact its quite bad. The vet took a scraping and there's nothing wrong. Is there anything I can put on it. My goldens are also extremely lethargic what can I do about it.
AnswerIn general, vets know far more than I do about physical problems. You might try another vet.
One other thing. Being overweight could cause the lack of energy and even the nose problem. Your dog definitely should be narrower at the waist than the hips and chest. You should be able to easily feel the ribs, but not see them. Each dog is different. Standard recommendations are a good place to start, but each dog must have its food and exercise adjusted to its individual needs.
