Question
My female is in day 14 of her cycle but does not show any inclination to accept the stud...in fact, my dear girl is not very hospitable to him. Discharge was still pinkish red on day 11, now there islittle, if any color to it. (We also tried on day 12). She's 5 and has not been bred before--but her mom & grandma, in their day, were very receptive by days 11-13...is this just not to be, or should we just be patient?

Thank you for any insight you might be able to offer!

Answer
I am registered here as an expert because I have a lot of experience and training in socializing puppies and I can be a big help with housebreaking, chewing, etc.  I do not know that much about breeding.  I was on the road all day today helping a friend drop off her Lab to be bred.  She will pick her up afterwards, maybe in 2 weeks when we will be at the kennel for training.  This is about as much as I have to do with breeding.  I have heard that Princess is like her mother, who was known as slut puppy.  Not the dog to help in this problem.

From what I do know, it may be too late now.  I am not sure what all is there, but go to www.akc.org, and read what they have to say in their breeding area.
