Question
Hi, I have two Male goldens 8 months old they were the last two of the bunch and i decided to take both. I thought keeping them together would be good. Now, they are starting to be very aggressive with each other. Neither one are neutered. My question is will it help their aggression by getting them neutered? Or should I look into separating them?

Answer
Neutering them along with good leadership may enable you to keep them.  The key to most behavior problems is approaching things using the dog's natural instincts. Dogs see all the people and dogs in the household as a pack with each having their own rank in the pack and a top dog. Life is much easier if the 2 legged pack members outrank the 4 legged ones. You can learn to play the role of top dog by reading some books or going to a good obedience class. A good obedience class or book is about you being top dog, not about rewarding standard commands with a treat. In some cases, even the most experienced dog owners can't keep peace between 2 dogs.  Most often it is 2 females.  The safest thing is one of each sex if you have a choice.
