what should I look for when trying to pick a golden for our family? color,size,parents? this is to be a family dog,not for show.thanks for your time. paul

Dear Paul,
If you want it to be a pure bread, make sure that the dog is pappered with the Amercian Kennel Club or the Canadian Kennel CLub. But If you are looking for a "golden Retriver Mut", then look for the size, never get the runt of the pack. It dosnet matter what color you get, unless the dog will be used for show, because yo can not show a red Golden
