breathing problems

Question
I have an 18 month old pom who seems to have a breathing problems. She seemed to have a slight one when younger but now seems to happen quite often. It is almost like a cough/sneeze thing and happens not only when excited. I had someone tell me that poms are prone to trach problems,,could this be the problem and if so what can I do,,I usually just try to calm her down and hold her but sometimes that doesnt seem to help

It could be allergies or maybe even cllapsing trachea.  Very common in Poms.  You will need to take her in to the vet to find out for sure and many Poms who have collapsing or sensitive trach's often live with it just fine but do tend to "honk" when they get excited or get too active.  If it is severe it can cause an enlarged heart and may need surgery to strengthen it.
