Question
Hello,
I have 9 month Pom. And she does not look like a Pom. Her nose is not pushed in and she is tall. And her hair does not resemble one of a pom. She does not have a full set of hair and does not look like she is about to get all her hair. Only her tummy and her bottom are full.I got her from a pet store and got her AKC papers. Can she be mixed or something. The question is, is she full pom and if she is when is going to get her hair.

Answer
If you bought from somewhere other than the breder and did not get to see what the parents look like then it is possible that you got a mixed breed, especially since you bought from a pet store when most times they get their "stock" from puppy mills who often have several of more than one type of breed that they work with.
But, from what you describe-it sounds like your Pom may just be going through what is called, "the uglies".  Most poms lose that downy puppy coat they have and grow a courser, longer adult coat from between 5-10 months old.  By then most are getting the new hair in.  There are also different muzzle types in Poms, as well-the most common descriptions are; fox face, bear face and babydoll faced.  It sounds like you have a fox faced one.
Lastly, the legs of a teenage Pom in the uglies will look longer simply because they don't have all their coat in yet.  But, some just do have longer legs and you would have seen that in the parents if you had gotten a chance to meet them.
Since you got AKC papers, you may be able to track down the breeder and see if they have a web site or if they are local, maybe you could ask to meet with them and see where your pup came from.
Good luck with your new furkid! :-)
