CONSTANT panting...

Question
Hello.  I have looked and cannot seem to find this specific
question.  Today I rescued a Pom.  She was left on the proch of
the dog groomers yesterday morning, and when I took my own
dog in today to get cleaned up, I decided to take this Pom home
with me.  Ever since we got home, she has been CONSTNATLY
panting.  I have taken her to the vet to be checked for obvious
health problems, and she had none and they are guessing she is
4-8 years old due to her teeth and some grey coloring on her
face.  I have been reading tonight that very young Poms tend to
have these issues.  When she pants, it is not like I am used to
with other dogs, her mouth is open like a yawn and her tongue
is not hanging out.  I am wondering if this is normal for Poms?
Sorry if this has been asked...but I did check and did not see
anything!  I will be taking her to the vet for blood work and to
get spayed here in the next week, so I can always ask them
again, but I wanted to ask some experts as well!  Thanks in
advance for all help...have a good night!

Answer
This sounds strange... not sure what it could be.  You are doing the right thing by taking her in.  She may be old.  She may have heart problems or just be frightened.
It is hard for me to tell if I am not seeing the dog but the signs don't sound familiar to me.  I have one that pants ALL THE DANG TIME but her tongue is out and it is just anxiety.  SHe is always excited and running around... I think maybe ADHD...

Best of luck.
