Pomeranian males.

Hi, i have a 1 and half old male pomeranian and a 4 month old male pomeranina, i just got the younger a few days ago, the old one got jealouse and growled at him and he bit him, but then i hit the old one and apparently he stopped, i heard that is not a good idea to have two male dogs, that they can hurt each other, figthing over who's the alpha dog and all that, what do you think and what do youi recommend?, should i give him back?, regards.

These is no dif in the temperment of males and females... there is a dif in the temperment from one dog to another no matter the sex.  You just may have happened to get 2 males that have alpha personalities.  The same could have happened with a bicth.  The 4 month old needs you to protect him and to let him know the other is alpha and the older needs you to greet him first, feed him first show him that you have not given up his place in the heirarchy.
