Bandit the Pom and Aidan the Grandchild

Question
My 5 year male pom is a joy and very lovable. Never bitten anyone but lately (year or so) seems skittish when there are a lot of people in the house. My 1 year old grandson comes first of course and it would be better to keep Bandit in our bedroom (where he normally sleeps) behand closed doors to ensure that there are no "incidents" with the baby, especially if we grownups are preoccupied and don't keep extremely vigilant - not good for the baby and not fair to the dog.  So my question is this, will keeping Bandit behind closed doors when the baby is visiting and also when there iis a crowd in the house cause him to develop any bad behavior?  I'm just afraid to put him or the baby in harm's way.  Thanks, B

Answer
Most children make small dogs nervous because most young children are constantly moving.  I would always keep Bandit
away from the baby until he is old enough to understand
how to sit on the floor to hold Bandit and has to pet him
gently.  Small Poms like mine can easily be hurt if a baby
should trip and fall on them or if a baby should drop them.

Vets are very expensive to fix broken bones so at this time
keep Bandit behind closed doors.  This will not cause any
bad habits.
