Question
i had just brought home a 3 month old Pom.  she seems healthy, but have have seen once that there was some blood in her poop.  could this be a very serious medical problem?.  also, how many immunization shots does she suppose to get at this age already?

Answer
Hi Phuong,

Has she had any vaccines yet or been checked for worms?  She should get shots for canine distemper, Hepatitis, and Parvovirus.  You need to take her to a Vet to have her checked over and for puppy shots.  Puppy shots and one year booster shots are beneficial.  Yearly boosters after that are unnecessary and have been associated with health problems.

Hope you enjoy your new puppy!  Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best Regards,
Carrie
P.S.  I don't recommend feeding processed kibble.  Feeding real, fresh foods is best.  There are many books at the library regarding homemade diets for dogs. There are also recipes on the Web.
PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS.
