Question
Hi-  I have an almost 2 year old female English Bulldog, Lyla.  Lyla had parvo as a puppy, but she's a fighter and is still with us today.  She was in the hospital for five awful days!  She was eating Eukanuba Lamb and Rice as a pup, but when she turned one we changed her (slowly) to Royal Canine for Bulldogs.  She has a healthy appetite when she's not being stubborn (as she can be sometimes).  About a month or two after we switched her food we (my husband and I)noticed hair loss on both of her sides.  We took her to the vet and they said it was a seasonal allergy.  That was in the summer.  We tried shampoos and fish oils, but nothing has seemed to work.  It is now spring and the spots are still there and they are getting worse.  We just had her thyroid tested and that came back normal.  I have an appointment with a vet who specializes in bulldogs to do some allergy testing... hopefully we'll get a definite answer.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Carolyn

Answer
Carolyn - Hi - I would love to help you and your Lyla!
SEE if this helps before you pay $$$ 500.00 or more for allergy testing at the Vet office!

Many times they will find 10-20 things that your dog will be allergic to...and MANY of them will be Environmental.

First - I would slowly take your baby off the Royal Canine and put her on some GRAIN free Formula - you have a few choices:

My favorite is SoJO - this is very close to home cooking - you buy the mix and add the fresh lightly cooked meats.

SEE here - they will ship SoJO to you free shipping:

The other options are a commercial grain free food :  Innova EVO or Wellness Core - found in most pet stores.

I bet your gal won't be able to resist the SoJO and freshly cooked meat made at home!!!

2nd thing I would like to do is get your baby onto some NuVET Plus-

This is an Allergy Blaster, Skin Healer and Immune system booster:
She will need 2 per day for about 20 days and then you can drop her down to 1 1/2 wafers of NuVET per day - the wafers are easy to break in 1/2s... She should take them like a treat or you can mix into some dog food.

NuVET can be ordered here: ONLY sold thru holsitic vets and some kennels:  Use order code 81098 for the 15% OFF discount

Last, I would love to see you get some NuVET tea tree oil shampoo and tea tree oil HOT spot Spray... This will help to re-grow the hair and give her some relief, too.
SEE the NuVET Folks for the Tea tree products
