Multiple Cats - Feeding

Question
I have 3 mature cats. Two are female and one is male, all are fixed. My problem is that the male cat tends to be a bully around food and is gaining quite a bit of weight. I feed all three cats dry food - there are three bowls left out all the time and they graze when they want. Often when one of the females goes to eat, he goes trotting after them and pushes them out of the way so he can eat, even though the other bowls are available. I worry that his behaviour is going to lead to him becoming quite overweight. The other two cats are at a healthy weight. Is there anything I can do?

Answer
Hello!

This is a very common problem with multiple cats in the same household.

It is very difficult to solve this problem, there are two ways you can solve this: first is by feeding them in different rooms, but this way you will have to feed them at regular intervals but never leave the food bowl all the time. Second way is that you can keep the male and females in separate rooms all the time and this way you can leave their bowls all day.
