Question
My dog CeCe returned home from a weeks vacation from LA back to Vegas....she was fine last nite..this morning fine...she went to our back yard, (no other animals live here) and came in and started vomiting approx 4 to 5 times within the hour.  She starting shaking and then started running around excited behind the couch, and near a glass patio door where she would stop and lay.  I gave her a teaspoon of Pepto Bismol and she threw that up too.
Now she is laying in my bed awake and slightly shaking occasionally.  She does not feel hot to the touch..I am broke..but will do what I have to.  She was poisoned about 8 months ago behind someone leaving roach powder in a home CeCe and I were visiting..It cost me $568. and a three day hospital stay.  She does not seem as sick as she was then.  To my knowledge there was no poison were we were.  I called the gardener and he said he put nothing on the lawn.  Should I take her now or observe her more.  She does not appear to be in pain. Please Help!

Answer
Sorry I did not answer sooner. If it were during the day I would definitely go to your clinic. If it is at night, it is hard to tell. Vomiting, as you know, could lead to death. From the holistic standpoint there are many things you could try, especially if you were working with a holistic veterinarian who could guide you by phone.

If you did not go to the clinic, offer ice cubes as they melt slowly enough to not usually cause vomiting. Pancreatitis is always a suspicion with Miniature Schnauzers.
If she is better, but still slightly ill, in the AM, you could try very tiny amounts of liquid broths, or a tiny piece of bread. Get some Rescue Remedy from the Health Food Store, along with some Marshmallow root or slippery elm.

MOre than this you need to learn more about holistic.
