cat ear problems

Question

Cat's ear   I think our cat has an ear problem.  She keeps shaking her heat very fast and hard. Sometimes she scratches at her ears.  I look inside and the ears look quite dirty in the bottom.  Maybe a fungus?   Any ideas?

In cats, there are some common problems like ear mites and ruptured eardrums. Fungal infections are rare to  be limited only to the ear in a cat (unlike dogs).  You need to have a vet look into the ear with an otoscope and possibly take samples to see if there is an infection or ear mites.
