Cat got in fight with another

Question
My cat was outside and got in a fight with another cat. He got bitten (or clawed, i am not sure) on his ear and it bled a little. I am not sure if this other cat was a stray or it was someone's outdoor cat..but the other cat looked strong and healthy. But my cat was not vaccinated for feline leukemia. There is no way of telling if this other cat has it. Should I get my cat tested for leukemia right away or how long should I wait?

I am treating the bite on his ear, by washing it with soap and water and applying an anti-biotic.

Answer
You can get him tested in a few days. I am not sure if any one knows what the actual incubation time is but if he is negative make sure he is vaccinated and is tested again in a year.
Another more worrisome virus he can get outside is rabies, and that is fatal to you and him so get him a 5 way for all the cat viruses and a rabies also.
Then you can have more peace of mind.

Keep in mind NO vaccination is 100% and that if a cat is fighting all the time they can still get leukemia. That is why it is preferable that your cat stay inside as much as possible.
