Question
My cat, who has always been really healthy, 4.5 yrs old, male, tabby, is really really bloated. He has never looked this "fat". He eats only dry food, usually Meow Mix. He woke me up last night to go out, which he never does, and this morning was really grumpy to the touch, I always dry him off when he comes in wet. My hubby made sure there were no injuries. He is still really bloated and grumpy to the touch. Is there anything I can do for him before I take him to the vet?

Answer
Not really, but you better get him in tomorrow.Bloat in a cat is not a good thing.

If he is really bloated and not just hefty, he should be tested for FIP which is a disease where their abdomen's fill with fluid.

Other things that can cause a bloated look is air under his skin, but you would hear it crackle when you touch it.

Call the vet first thing in the morning.
