Question
she is a year& a half old. chocolate lab. she has started eating grass, and lossing hair real bad. what is causing this?

Answer
Hi Toni!

Signs of hair loss in dogs is cause for concern and shows the need for treatment.

Possible problems might be allergies or an infectious agent such as ringworm, hormonal imbalances, thyroid problems or Cushing's disease.

The eating grass may or may not be associated with the hair loss. Many dogs eat grass because they just like it, just as people sometimes crave a salad. The concern would be if the lawn has been chemically treated.
Dogs may eat grass when they have an upset stomach in order to cause vomiting. If your dog was vomiting and having diarrhea  then it would probably be more significant.

Your should be to make an appointment with your veterinarian as soon as possible regarding the hair loss.

I hope this has been helpful and I wish you the best of luck! Please keep me posted and give that labby girl lots of kisses for me!Sending wagging tails your way!
