Eye Infection
You should know that my 9 year old boy cat was found to have a cancerous tumor on his back leg 3 months ago and we ended up having his leg removed. Since then he's been fine with no problems at all. Suddenly a week or so ago he started tearing a lot, seemed more like mucus than tears. Then a couple days ago I noticed in one of the eyes he had red lumps behind his bottom eyelid. We brought him to the vet already and they said it could be an infection or cancer. They gave him an antibiotic and steroid shot, we're also giving him an antibiotic ointment. My husband keeps telling me it seems to be getting better, after all he can actually open his eyes. My problem is, the eye still looks REALLY bad and I can't stop worrying.

Answer
It does take a few days for an eye infection to completely go away. However, did they look under his eyelid for a grass seed or a foreign body of some kind?

I would be concerned about that before I would about cancer. If his eye isn't better by Monday morning then you need to get him back in and have the vet look under his eyelid.

I can't tell you how many times we have had owners bring in pets that have unresolved issues like this only to find foxtails or something in the eyes, under the lids or in the tear ducts.

We would shake our heads and wonder "why didn't they look under/in there?"

So that would be my advice to you. And stop worrying. It never changes the outcome. What you fear you attract. Start attracting happy, positive outcomes instead.
