Otomax in cats ears

Hello, should Otomax be used to treat bacteria infection found in my cats ear?  Even though it was prescribed to my cat, I cannot find any info regarding it's use on cats.  Thank you very much...

Because of the cost involved in getting approval from FDA for many drugs, most veterinary drug companies go for the species in which the drug will be most used.  In the case of Otomax, they went for the label for dogs.  I use Otomax in cats, but rarely. It is safe and it is effective, but it is very rare for a cat to get a bacterial ear infection that will respond to the antibiotic in Otomax--Gentamycin.
