Question
Hello,
I have a two year old male Siberian Husky, a two year old female Black Lab, as well as two cats.  All of the animals have been house broken, or so we thought.  Lately we have been finding urine spots all over our house.  I am pretty sure it is the lab because it is in a big puddle.  However, we aren't sure why she is reverting.  The only thing that I can think of is because I am eight months pregnant.  Could this be a reason?  And if so, will it continue when the baby is born?  What can we do to make it stop?  We will take any advice that we can.

Thanks,
Marci

Answer
The first thing I would suspect is a urinary tract infection (or other medical problem) versus anxiety, therefore, I would recommend taking a urine specimen of BOTH dogs to be checked at the vet.  If they are both normal, then check the cats.  You can try isolating the cats to one room to monitor their bathroom habits.

For the anxiety, I would recommend FELIWAY and D.A.P. diffusers in the house for the animals as well as adding Rescue Remedy into the water to help ease the transition of the new baby.

When the baby is born, try to stick to your same schedule with the pets and make sure to spend time with them as usual so they don't feel neglected.  For the dogs, it is important that they get plenty of exercise as well.

Good luck.
