Vaginal bleeding

Hi,
My 6-year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is not spayed.  She's had normal cycles for the 2 years that we have had her.  About 3 weeks ago, she went into heat and, as usual, there was less than moderate amounts of blood and the usual arrogance.  Then about a week into it, she began bleeding more profusely, which I thought was just a variation on being in heat.  She is still continuing to bleed when she does chores outside, jumps onto the couch or climbs steps.  She is thirsty all the time and pants continuously unless she is asleep and then she twitches.  We have tried soft foods, direct pressure with soft cloths (which she presses back against), light to moderate stomach rubbing, and an aspirin.  I plan to take her to the vet on Monday, but would like to know if there's anything else I can do now.

See if your local health food store has Yunan Pio (there are several alternative spellings), a Chinese herb that is great for stopping bleeding. You could give up to 3 tablets, 4 hours apart. Also you could get the homeopathic remedy Sepia 30c and crush one pellet. Pour the powder into the front of her mouth, to dissolve on the gums. Give it twice, 6 hours apart.

Also try to get someone to do Reiki on her today - even if someone from another state. From the book, Healthy Animal's Journal - "Reiki: Personally, I think every person who lives with or works with animals must know at least Level I Reiki. The practitioner places her hands upon the animal (or it can be done from a distance, even around the world) with the intent for healing to occur. The energy flows through the healer into the animal. Next, I would find one of the many great integrative veterinarians in Michigan so you can visit them tomorrow. Or contact homeopathic veterinarians who can help you by phone after your exam tomorrow at your conventional veterinarian.
This is a person trained in many different approaches, including using conventional drugs only when absolutely needed. Working with one can increase the chance that your cherished companion can live a long and healthy life after recovering from this current problem.
