QuestionI have a 12 year old female black lab mix. Just relocated to a desert environment. She has adjusted well, except this morning she had a semi-formed loose stool and it appeared to have a dark reddish color to the "looser" part of the stool. Not black and tarry and not bright red. I did give her a pig's ear treat last night...can this cause irritation to the stomach/G.I. tract and hense bleeding? She had 1 other episode similar to this about 1 month ago. What types of test should I anticipate a Vet running on her besides an OB stool?

AnswerDon't give any more pigs ears... They can be hard to digest because of the fat content... You should consider a good Immune System Booster Vitamin for your older girl...
