Question
I have a 12 year old female black lab mix.  Just relocated to a desert environment.  She has adjusted well, except this morning she had a semi-formed loose stool and it appeared to have a dark reddish color to the "looser" part of the stool.  Not black and tarry and not bright red.  I did give her a pig's ear treat last night...can this cause irritation to the stomach/G.I. tract and hense bleeding?  She had 1 other episode similar to this about 1 month ago.  What types of test should I anticipate a Vet running on her besides an OB stool?

Thanks,
Kathleeen

Answer
Don't give any more pigs ears... They can be hard to digest because of the fat content... You should consider a good Immune System Booster Vitamin for your older girl...
Here is the link for NuVET

They will ship it out today if you call now... The best you can buy for your lab kid..
