Cat ate bird-now vomitts

Question
I have a about 9 year old male black and white cat (indoor/outdoor) He must have eaten a bird or small rabbit and is now vomitting for days. He can't keep any food down. He still is allert and hungry, but vomitts within minute of eating. We live in the country and it does not look like he ate a poisened mouse. Can he be trated with a special diet?
I also tried to give him a de-worming medicine, just in case he picked up worms, however, I don't think the medicine is getting into his system because of his vomitting. Do you have any advice? Thank you.

Answer
Hi Connie!  You will definately have to take your cat to your veterinarian immediately.  It sounds as though he has an intestinal blockage, probably  lodged bones from the bird/rabbit that he ate.  He will need whatever is stuck removed, before infection starts in, which would be fatal if not treated.  Veterinary care is needed ASAP.  This is a common happening for those "hunters", and he has the classic symptoms.  I will be thinking of him! Best of luck, and please let me know how he does.
Sending millions of get well kitty kisses!
