Boston Terrier having problems pooping

Question
Hi
I have a 8yr old Boston Terrier male he is pretty much in good health. He had lyme disease that was treated in Nov 08 but is much better now. Recently he has been having problems when he goes outside to poop. He walks around for a long time trying to poop. It comes out solid but he has difficulty pushing it out. Then yesterday he went and we picked up the mess and while walking over to dispose of it he started to go again. It takes him about 10 minutes or so to get it all out. Yesterday I also noticed that he was walking around trying to push it out and then all of a sudden 2 pieces just shot out real fast and then towards the end it's seemed almost like diahrea. Is there anything that I could give him to help him out ?  It breaks my heart to see him struggle. This is the only problem he is showing other than this issue he is pretty happy and active and is eating and drink ok.

Thank You

Answer
There are so many things you can try. My favorite is to feed him some real food. Yogurt is good for the probiotics. Canned pumpkin adds more fiber. Switch to a good raw food diet. Mitomax is a great probiotic that is very heat stable and helps with constipation - order at www.ChristinaChambreau.com/products.php - click on maxpetscity.com.

I do not have access to my regular notes that I put in these answers, so please read any of the other answers to learn about how your dog live long (up to 20)  and healthy life. No more vaccines. Feed a raw meat diet. Work with an integrative veterinarian - www.theAVH.org - homeopathy(some can help you by phone), www.AHVMA.org (general holistic - may find a local person), www.ivas.org & www.tcvm.com - acupuncture. You can learn (for free) how to do Reiki which could help his digestive tract. (Again see my answers to others).
