Large boil like bump

Question

back paw   My 2 year old bull mastiff has this "boil looking" lump on his leg.  Started out as crusty bump which I thought nothing of.  But now it has turned into a 'raw' looking sore.  Is this something I can treat at home.  Thanks

An ulcerated area like that should be checked out by your vet.  If it is an infection, then it may be treated at home with antibiotics and possibly foot soaks.  But if it is something more serious that needs to be removed, it is better to do it now rather than wait until it gets any larger.  Large surgical areas are very difficult to get to heal in that area.
