Rice and Chicken Breast diet

Hi,
Two months ago the Vet told me to put my dog on a white rice and chicken breast diet when we found blood in his stool, I have not stopped.  It was the second time we found blood in his stool and it has not happened since.  

Now though, the past month, he has been scratching and biting near his tail and under his stomach and on his legs.  Not alot but often.  It seems like it may be the food diet.  He loves the rice and chicken diet.  Will you please recommend what I should include in his meals so that he could stlp scratching before he breaks skin and matters get worst.

Some dogs do develop food reactions, but I doubt that is what this is. Ask your vet o treat the itchiness with a shot of a cortisone type drug and if the itching goes away, it os more an environmental allergy problem than a food.  If it does not go away, then change diets to see if the itching will stop on the new diet.
