Question
I am looking at getting a family dog. I have two children 10 and 6 and would like a dog that is good with children, small, and dosen't shed alot. We are moving to orlando and will have plenty of room. I am thinking of possible a border terrier. I was wondering if you could tell me if this would be a good match for our family or recomend anyother breeds that might be.

Answer
The best dog that I can tell you to get is one that you rescue from the pound, be it a puppy or an older dog.

Most of these dogs are just needing a second chance at love and are willing to give their all to someone to love them.

You will find every size, color and breed mix there that you could want. You will even find purebreds. If you adopt and dog and after a short time it doesn't work for your family, most shelters will take them back.

These dogs are waiting for you and by you adopting you have lessened the problem we have worldwide of unwanted but loving dogs. I know hundreds of people that would never have anything but a rescued dog. I have had two and they were the best dogs of my life.

So take the kids and go look at the shelters around you. You will be pleasantly surprised at what you will find.

When you do, let me know what you got!
