How do I get my do to stop swallowing her food without chewing it first?

Most dogs are wolfers of their food. One way you might be able to slow her down a bit is to elevate the bowl up. They have to eat a bit differently that way and it might slow her down.
My dog eats her food very fast and I cannot say she chews any of it but she is very healthy and not overweight by even a pound.
The biggest danger some dogs face by eating fast is their bellies swelling up quickly with food and then twisting if they run or exercise too much. This is usually a problem for deep-chested dogs, not your average mutt-but it can happen to any dog.
