dogs-colds

Hello!
    My question is in regard to colds. My entire family has been ill. We have all had strep throat and upper respiratory bronchitis. Can dogs contract a cold? She sleeps with us so I wouldn't think it immpossible.

Hi Angel!  To answer your question, it would be highly unlikely for your dog to contract this ailment. Most ailments are species oriented.  Birds, on the other hand, can catch colds from people....but dogs and cats will not.  Dogs and cats can develop upper respiratory infections, but we can't catch the infections from them.  It's strange, but true! So, don't you worry.  Your babies will be fine and I hope that you and your family get better soon!
