Puppy Lab is drolling and just threw up

my puppy lab (3 months) is drooling extensively and has just threw up.

the vet is closed is this serious?

caught him eating a pine cone earlier today

Drooling is very often a sign of nausea so it is very common to see this before vomiting.  The eating of the pine cone could indeed have upset his stomach.  If he is still vomiting you should see your veterinarian, but hopefully removing it from his system has corrected the problem.
