yorkie- rooting

my female yorkie has started rooting every blanket,article of clothing etc she can get hold of.  she is 3yrs old and had one heat cycle.  Is she gearing up?  or is this a bad behavior she has developed? Thank you in advance

This sounds like a case of false pregnancy either coming on or she is just ending one.
This is when they go through a heat cycle without being bred and their hormones kind of get the better of them. They can go as far as producing milk and nesting, which is what she is doing.

Unless you plan on breeding her soon, you need to get her spayed. Breeding and heat cycles after the age of four dramatically increases their chances of getting mammary cancers.

She is old enough to be bred at least once, then I would get her spayed after that if you want one litter out of her.
