Kidney cancer?

Question
I have an outdoor  male neutered cat approx 12yrs (just acquired him a year ago)who recently got sick very quickly.  He was found underneath a neighbors house after being missing for 2 days.  He was dehydrated, severely anemic and lethargic.  Chest x-ray normal, red blood cells were not regenerating upon receiving medication therefore given a blood transfusion, was given fluids, cephalosporin, quinalone, abd tap drew out fluid with blood in it, blood smear showed high count of toxins in the blood, outside palpatation examination revealved a lot of what may be masses in the kidney, FeLV was neg, repeat chemisrty showed begining stage of kidney failure.  The cat is not deficating, is urintaing in large quantities at a time, lethargic but alert to activity going outside while looking out the window, purrs when greated and petted, eats when hand fed, drinks alot, legs seem weak when walking(isn't walking around only to litter box and water bowl).  Vet said she thinks he has multiple tumors in the kidney and that to just let him be.  Could he have kidney disease with stones (the masses she feels), FIP or toxoplasmosis instead?

Answer
Wow Colleen, thanks for all the info.  He does sound like a very sick boy.  I am wondering about Diabetes, too???

You don't want to put this boy thru too much.  We could give him some good supplements to help strengthen his immune system.
Let me know if you want more info on a special diet and supplements.

OK?

Take care...
