Question
My cat was diagnosed with IBD.  Symptoms were violent vomiting and diarrhea.  When she isn't feeling well she poops in strange place...on papers on the floor, on the bed, couch.  She is now on dry food Z/d and prednisone.  My question is what else should we be doing for her poop...she only poops in the litter box occassionally.  It is getting to be very trying.  Which meds will work the best?  Help!!

Answer
Z/D is a low allergen diet. Prednisone is a steroid for inflammation. The two major treatments for IBD she is on. You have to understand that there are times she just can't make it to the litter box on time. What she has is a painful, cramping disease. Sometimes it is tough to get to the box on time.

So put out more litter boxes and give her some time to adjust to the meds and the food.
