sick puppy?

We just got our new pup about 1 week ago.  He has a persistant cough - not really, but like he is trying to throw up, or clear his throat, like choaking? He does this about 6 or more times a day.  I am familiar w a backwards cough, as we have a 3 yr old female yorkie.  He is a yorkie, 2 lbs, and 3 months old.  Any info you could provide is greatly appreciated.  thanks, emily

If he came from a kennel it is likely he has kennel cough. He could be having problems with his trachea also. I would get him into the vets as he needs to be looked over and vaccinated at this age anyway. Make sure the vet listens to his heart also and gets him on heartworm prevention.
He really needs to be seen for this as soon as you can get him in.
