puppie miscarriges

My veterinarian says my Shih Tzu is in the process of aborting her pups. I am wanting to know how it is done and what to expect.  She is in labor now and licking herself a lot.  Will there be aborted pups visible or will she eat them.  I am in a panic and my vet,s line is busy.

It depends how far along in her pregnancy she is,wether or not the puppies will be fully formed and visible.I would suggest taking the pupies away from the mother,immediately as soon as they are born.Please keep calling your vet or try an emergency veterinarian service.
