Question
Can canine conjunctivitis (pink eye) be passed to humans and vice-versa? My dog and I both contracted it at the same time and are both being treated with the exact same eye drops by the same manufacturer.
Thank you so much.

Answer
According to the research that I have done it is possible that you both got it but from the same source, not so much from each other. We have seen many cases of conjunctivitis in dogs where the owners never got it.

I once got it from a keyboard at the local college. It is viral or bacterial. When it's bacterial it hits pretty fast.

Make sure that you wash well and even use a hand sanitizer after treating your dog before you treat yourself.

Because it can be bacterial, you might want to go around the house and wipe things down with a 20/1 bleach solution. That should take care a lot of hiding places for this bacteria.

Make sure to finish out the course of drops for both of you.
