Ear and Eye Care for basset hounds

Dr. Connell,

 I have a 2 yr old basset that i just adopted from the pound. I took him to the vet and he told me i need to buy him some meds to prevent ear infections. I would like to purchase the meds online since they're not as expensive. What do you recommend? I was wondering if you knew anything for eyes as well?

HI Patty,
First of all I am not a vet. Secondly, I cannot recommend anything like that since I have no idea what conditions we are talking about. If the vet said some ear cleaners etc, then just get what they have there. Once you pay for shipping and sometimes tax, it is actually cheaper at the vets. Try a local pet store also.
Your dog shouldn't need anything for her eyes. If they are not clear and bright and without a discharge then she needs to have them looked at.
