my 5 yr. od rottie

I have a 5 yr. old rottie and within the last couple of weeks he seems to be getting agitated at things that never bothered him, but at the same time my niece can poke him in the eyes, and pull his checks etc.  and i have 5 children and don't want to see one of them get bit and then i would not be able to trust him again.and he is panting even when he is inside, we do have central air and it is kept at 68.

Misty:  Sounds like you need a vet visit for some baseline blood work.  See what is going on with his blood work.  It may be arthritis in his back or legs.  It would be a good idea to have a vet visit ASAP.  The panting can mean pain and many other things, too.
