Our lil guy is sick

We have taken our dachshund to the vet twice now and he's still the same.. he's been throwing up bile for 2 weeks. he drinks his water and want so eat when he does it ends up coming up half hour later or a day later. they put him on  panacur granules, a tape worm medication and metronidazole and a gastrointestinal health food. he eats that but doesnt digest the rice. can you offer any  help?

What did the vet say was wrong with him? How old is this dog? What is he eating? It sounds like the vet thought or found him to be full of worms, both round and tapeworms. This could certainly upset his stomach but it doesn't usually make them vomit bile.

Is he eating people food as well? Any little bits of food you give him can cause this problem with him vomiting bile.

He should be fasted for 24 hours then slowly put on a diet of bland food, such as Hills prescription I/D, or boiled and cooled white chicken and rice for a period of three days or so. But he really needs to be fasted with water so that his digestive system can calm down and heal.

How long has he been on the digestive diet and what kind is it? Right now he could have gastritis, or pancreatitis or even some intestinal irritation going on. That is why he needs to be fasted.

Rice usually doesn't digest but is more to calm the GI tract and sooth it.
Get him off of all food for 24 hours then slowly introduce the GI diet back to him, about 1/4 of a cup two or three times a day, and NO OTHER FOOD OR TREATS!!
This is a must. He cannot be eating ANY treats at all.

So please answer the above questions in a follow up and let me know how the fasting went.
If that doesn't help, then your vet should hospitalize him and fast him there with some IV fluids.
