cat licking paws after declawing

Question
I have a six month old kitten we got declawed a week ago. They used a glue on his feet but a few days after he started licking his paws, chewing and thus opening up the wounds. The vet gave us antibiotics and more pain medicine, but he keeps chewing on them and opening them up. We tried the bitterspray to deture him, but he doesn't seem to mind the smell/taste at all and he won't leave bandages on more than a minute or two. They look sore but he won't quit messing with them. Could this be a permanent thing? Could he be doing harm to them in the long run? Is there any way to make him stop?

Answer
The best thing to do is put an E-collar on him so he can't reach his paws otherwise his feet will not heal.  I would avoid spraying anything on the feet and you should be using paper litter.  It is normal to have some discomfort after declawing as it is the equivalent of cutting your finger off at the first knuckle, so give him some time.
