My poor kitty

Hi there. I am not sure what is wrong with my little man. I was told he is approx. 6-8 months old. He is very active, an outdoor cat. Starting yesterday he has been sleeping alot and is not his active playful self at all. We saw three gouches on his hind leg. They look like clean scrapes, skin is not broken, but hair is clean like a shaved spot? What could this be? We are in a foreign country now and plan to take him to a vet tomorrow is he is still in this state. So i would like to ask, what are some of the possibilities that I should want to hear from the doctor here? If he injured his leg, i.e. caught it in something, or a dog bit his leg, why would he be so lethargic and not playing? Are cats like people, meaning if they have an injury could they be succumbing to it and just taking it easy? Many many thanks.

Hello:  I wonder if this little one has an infection starting up.  You mentioned the areas on his leg ....  Also, he is lethargic and has no energy at all.  Sounds like he needs the VET.  
Yes, may be an infection and antibiotics may be needed.
