Miniature Dachshund

Question
We recently got a miniature dachshund from a road side seller. He was never too active, mostly mellow, but he would still eat and drink. Then he slowly stopped eating or drinking anything. We have been hand feeding him soft food and water, but it has done nothing. His body is always cold and he can hardly walk. It seems as though he is slowly dying right now. Is there anything i can do, anything? i do not want to watch him die tonight.

Answer
I have never heard of a dog being sold by a road side seller. Not in this country anyway!

You need to get this dog to the vet immediately or you will probably lose him. He sounds very ill and seems as if he has been this way for a while. How long have you been hand feeding him?

Has he been to the vets for a check up? Has he been vaccinated or tested and put on heartworm prevention? Is he old or a young dog?

There isn't much if anything I or anyone online can do but exhort you to call a vet tonight and have him seen or in the morning. He sounds very sick and should have seen a vet when he first started getting sick.

Please get off the internet and call a vet now or he possibly could die tonight.
