Teething

Question
I have a 3 month old Siberian Husky puppy that I believe is starting to teethe. We are still working to get him to not nip or bite but over the past few days when he grabs something with his teeth(either one of us or his toys) he bites down hard and whines. His gums dont look to be swollen. Is there anything I can give him to help ease the pain of teething? I already give him ice chips and frozen chew toys, etc. Can he be given an aspirin?

Answer
Hi Linda!

Its best to ask your vet first. There is a new medication called Metacam on the market that is a NSAID and is marketed for pets only.  But its by RX only.  So ask your vet about that. :)

I don't recommend aspirin, only because it tends to be nasty on the stomach.

hope that helps.
