cholodine for cats with epilepsy

Question
My 15 year old tabby developed epilepsy about a year ago. At that time he
also became increasingly blind and deaf. His epilepsy is sound wave triggered
- certain noises like tapping, snapping, etc will set him off. We've manage to
keep our noises minimized in order to help him but we also want to help him
in any way possible. I'm reluctant to give him phenobarytol (as it has been
suggested by our vet) because it causes dizziness -- I don't want to add to
his troubles (given he's blind and deaf already -- he relies on his nose and
paws to make his way around). Reading about Cholodine, I thought it may be
useful for lessening the seizures. Any thoughts of yours are greatly
appreciated.

Answer
Cholodine is usually taken with Inisotol. There used to be a product on the market called Cholodin for older dogs and cats. It was a soft chewable wafer.
You could look online for it, I am sure it is still around somewhere.
It does work well to help sharpen some of the senses and helps with balance and things but I am not sure that it does anything for epilepsy.
It sure won't hurt anything.
Good luck finding it and let me know if you do.
