New Yellow Canary Bird

Hi Hilary!I just got a brand new yellow Canary today for Mother's Day.I was wondering if you can please tell me everything I will need to know about her?Like when to clean her cage,when to feed her,how much to feed her,what food to give her and every other daily basis thing I will need to know!Thank you so much!Have a great Mother's Day!

Hi Jazza!  What a wonderful mother's day gift!
Canaries are very easy to care for.  You should clean the cage out about twice per week.  I always find it easiest to put paper towel or newspaper on the bottom of the cage and just replacing the soiled paper.  There is a staple canary food that you can get at any pet store, and just fill up her food dish with it.  Replace whatever she has eaten on a daily basis and wash out her food dish once per week.  As for water...fresh water daily and a weekly cleaning of her water dish.  Simple as that!
